  • The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce represents 90 chambers throughout Atlantic Canada, serving a diverse membership of thousands of businesses. To adapt to the evolving economic landscape and enhance our service offerings, we are pleased to launch an initiative focused on upskilling chamber staff.

    Project Overview

    This initiative will provide chamber staff the opportunity to attend training sessions and conferences that will enhance their skills and capabilities to serve their members. Through this program, chambers members in good standing can apply for funding to support their professional development, receiving up to $500-$750 per staff member for approved proposals.

    Objectives

    1. Empower Staff: Equip chamber staff with essential skills in areas such as leadership, digital landscape (AI), economic development, and member engagement.
    2. Enhance Member Services: Enable chambers to offer more valuable services to their members, driving economic growth and community support.
    3. Promote Continuous Learning: Foster a culture of professional development and lifelong learning within the chambers.

  • Business Truth & Reconciliation Business Truth & Reconciliation

    The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.

     

    Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
