DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Small Business Week with Conversations That Matter\n\n\n\nOver the past year\, through conversations with business owners\, entrepreneurs\, community leaders\, and economic development partners across Nova Scotia\, we've heard common themes emerge: succession planning\, workforce challenges\, opportunities for innovation\, and the growing interest in practical AI tools for small business.\n\n\n\nIn recognition of Small Business Week (Oct 19   25)\, Dalhousie University is offering a series of free workshops designed to address these topics and support the long-term success of rural businesses and communities.\n\n\n\nPlanning for What's Next: Succession\, Transition and the Future of Your Small Business What happens to a business when the owner is ready to step back\, bring the next generation in\, sell\, or simply begin planning for the future? Succession and transition planning can be challenging for any small business\, and it often involves much more than deciding who will take over. In this practical session\, Dr. Albert James and Dr. Tasha Richard will explore some of the key questions small-business owners should consider when thinking about the future of their business\, including ownership and leadership transitions\, family dynamics\, preparing the next generation\, and preserving the value that has been built over time.
