ur AGM & Convention brings together over 320 chamber of commerce executives and community business leaders to discuss the economic and political issues that affect the prosperity of Canadian business. This event enables our member chambers to become more relevant and successful advocates for their communities. It is also THE opportunity for chambers of commerce to present their member businesses’ key concerns to our cross-country network. The resolutions adopted pave the way to foster a stronger economic environment for business and will be presented to the federal government and shape our public policy objectives for the upcoming year.
COVID-19 has affected all kinds of events and schedules. Like you, we have been assessing the feasibility of our events, including our AGM and Convention. Our top concerns are whether our members can safely get to the AGM and whether they can afford registration, travel and accommodation expenses.
Because of these concerns and the unknowns surrounding mass gatherings, we have decided to cancel our in-person AGM and Convention and hold a virtual event instead.
