    Atlantic Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Five Distinguished Past Mii Award Winners from Newfoundland and Labrador at Annual Conference.

    Windsor, NS (May 23, 2025) – On May 27, 2025, at their Annual Conference, held this year in St. John’s NL, the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce (ACC) proudly celebrates five outstanding individuals from Newfoundland and Labrador who have previously been honoured with the Most Inspiring Immigrant (Mii) Awards. These awards recognize excellence, leadership, and community impact by immigrants across Atlantic Canada.
    The five past recipients being highlighted by the ACC for their continued contributions and inspiring legacies are:

    • Dr. Paula Mendonça
    • Dr. Paul Banahene Adjei
    • Dr. Sevtap Savas
    • Dr. Desai Shan
    • Dr. Sulaimon Giwa
    Each of these individuals has made a profound impact in their respective fields through innovation, research, advocacy, and community engagement.
    Organized by My East Coast Experience, the Mii Awards celebrate the stories of immigrants who demonstrate exceptional leadership, creativity, and resilience—qualities these five honourees embody through their ongoing work in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
