Atlantic Chamber of Commerce launches Atlantic IMPRESSIONS to gather critical business feedback and intelligence rapidly
Windsor, NS (July 30, 2020) – The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce (ACC) today announced the launch of Atlantic IMPRESSIONS, its new cloud-based Insight Community aimed at helping build a deeper, richer and open engagement process to explore business issues and gather critical feedback from Atlantic Canadian businesses in a timely and effective manner.
ACC and its network of 94 Chambers are taking consultation and engagement to the next level for business in Atlantic Canada by tapping into the power of Vision Critical’s leading edge cloud-based digital insights platform—trusted by global brands around the world. The project is made possible thanks to a contribution by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) Regional Economic Growth through Innovation Program.
“We are very excited about the launch of Atlantic IMPRESSIONS and its potential to deliver critical business intelligence from Atlantic Canadian businesses to governments,” says Sheri Somerville, CEO, Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. “There is a data deficit in Atlantic Canada and getting good information can be costly and time consuming. With a network of Chambers and 16,000 members we’ve always had it finger on the pulse of Atlantic business, but until now its always been traditional bricks and mortar communication which takes time—time we didn’t really have during a situation like COVID-19 where circumstances affecting business changed daily and governments were faced with urgent need for feedback to deliver critical support programs.”
“Helping businesses across Atlantic Canada recover from the impact of COVID-19 means hearing directly about the challenges they face,” says the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA. “Now, with the support of ACOA, the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce will be able to get these insights first-hand. Our message to businesses is clear: we’ve been here for you with immediate measures, we’re here for you now as our economy reopens and we’ll get through this, together. We’re working with you to support good, local jobs and help Atlantic Canada’s economy come back strong.”

Atlantic IMPRESSIONS is a cloud-based digital insight community exclusive to the Chamber network designed to empower timely and impactful participant outreach and engagement. Through it, the Atlantic Chamber will exchange information and engage community members who can opt-in to explore topics such as the economic landscape, policy and regulations, labour market and sector issues and opportunities, international trade and export readiness, as well as many other areas of interest.
Atlantic IMPRESSIONS replaces static data and reports with near real-time actionable participant intelligence. The Chamber network can now obtain richer data because participants opt-in to explore topics that concern them using the digital platform. It will also enable timely and vital follow up that is sometimes needed to further explore issues rather than relying only on static, open-ended questions.
“We are very grateful to ACOA for their support and their continued focus on fostering business innovation and recovery in the region. Atlantic IMPRESSIONS is truly an innovative means for us to consult with business and gather near real-time intelligence quickly and effectively. As a result, we will be able to provide data-driven feedback to government, but also to our members because we share the results right back to Atlantic IMPRESSIONS participants,” adds Somerville. “That is a key differentiator, the share back. If you join the Insight Community, we share back results shortly after an outreach is complete, so participants also have an open line of sight to the collective perspective of the community.”
Atlantic IMPRESSIONS is a bilingual Insight Community open to Chamber members and non-member businesses and their teams throughout Atlantic Canada. It has been made possible by ACOA who is providing a $93,750 non-repayable contribution over three years under the Regional Economic Growth through Innovation Program.
