APEC's webinar exploring Atlantic export opportunities in the EU
If you are interested in exploring the EU market you need to attend APEC's January 26 webinar on EU trade When the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is ratified, Atlantic Canadian businesses will have new opportunities in the European Union, one of the largest markets in the world. Research carried out by the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC) shows that Atlantic exporters will need to do their homework to understand and manage the risks of entering this diverse market. On January 26 at 10 a.m. (AST) APEC's Senior Economist David Chaundy will host a one hour webinar for Atlantic business leaders highlighting the opportunities and proven strategies for success. The session will explain why businesses should consider the EU, detail key features of the EU that business leaders need to understand, and highlight specific opportunities for regional manufacturers. Mr. Chaundy will also share the "lessons learned" from seasoned Atlantic exporters who are already doing business in the EU. Business Truth & Reconciliation
The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.
Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
