One Peace At A Time
Founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate Tareq Hadhad of Antigonish, Nova Scotia will lead a business seminar at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown on Friday, August 2nd from 1 to 3 p.m. Tareq is the recipient of the Start Up Canada's National Newcomer Entrepreneur Award. He was selected by Google as the National Hero Case for 2018. Tareq has spoken to numerous organizations, including many Chambers of Commerce, on the topics of immigrant settlement, cultural diversity and entrepreneurship. Tareq's message is of utmost importance to businesses and communities seeking skills and capacities for their organizations through immigration. The August 2nd business seminar featuring Tareq Hadhad is a partnership initiative of the Eastern PEI Chamber of Commerce and the Roma at Three Rivers National Historic Site.

Business Truth & Reconciliation
The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.
Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
