World Intellectual Property Day 2021
Protect Your Creativity If you are new to the world of Intellectual Property (IP), World International Property Day is an opportunity to find out how the tools of the IP system can support you when bringing your ideas to the market. This year, World Intellectual Property Day 2021 focuses on the critical role that small businesses play in the economy, and how they can use IP rights to build stronger, and more competitive businesses. The U.S. Embassy will hold this World IP Day event to help prepare small businesses with the IP tools required to expand their market presence. We plan to contribute to small business success with information on how patents, designs, trademarks, geographical indications, and copyright affect them and play a major role in innovation. Business Truth & Reconciliation
The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.
Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
