  • A Commitment to University Talent, Employer Opportunity, and Regional Prosperity

Atlantic Canada's prosperity depends on our ability to connect student and graduate talent with the employers, communities, and industries that need it.

Atlantic Canada's Prosperity Charter is a shared commitment to strengthen the connection between university talent and regional opportunity. It reflects the belief that Atlantic university students and graduates are essential to the region's ability to attract, retain, and grow the talent needed for workforce capacity, productivity, innovation, competitiveness, and long-term economic resilience.

Atlantic Employers + Atlantic Student Talent = Atlantic Prosperity

By signing this Charter, we commit to a more collaborative, integrated, and action-oriented approach to connecting student and graduate talent with opportunity.

Employers commit to finding ways to integrate student and graduate talent into workforce planning and create pathways to experience and employment.

Universities commit to working with employers of all sizes to strengthen pathways between student talent and regional opportunity. As educators, community partners, and employers themselves, universities play a dual role in preparing talent and connecting it to workforce and prosperity needs.

    Principles

By signing Atlantic Canada's Prosperity Charter, we commit to:

    1. Championing university talent as essential to Atlantic Canada's workforce, productivity, innovation, and prosperity.
    2. Building stronger pathways between students, graduates, employers, communities, and regional opportunities.
    3. Engaging across the student journey through activities such as networking events, industry panels, mentorship, workplace visits, capstone projects, co-op, internships, other forms of work-integrated learning, and graduate hiring.
    4. Strengthening university-business collaboration by sharing opportunities, workforce priorities, emerging skill needs, and practical pathways for engagement.
    5. Contributing to a community of prosperity champions committed to connecting talent with opportunity and building the workforce conditions Atlantic
    6. Canada needs for long-term prosperity and resilience.

    Commitment

On behalf of my organization, I support the intent and commitments of Atlantic Canada's Prosperity Charter and commit to advancing its purpose and contribution to Atlantic Canada's future.
