  • Exciting Leadership Opportunities at Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF)

    Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF) is seeking dedicated individuals to join the organization in various governance roles to help shape the future of entrepreneurship support for under-served innovators and business owners across Canada.

    Several positions are currently open, and IEF aims to fill them with diverse candidates from across the country. The goal is to ensure that the board of directors reflects the community it serves, bringing both lived and professional experience to the organization.

    1. Board of Directors

    • Commitment to meet bimonthly on the last Friday of the month from 12-2pm EST
    • This is a working board, focused on supporting the IEF network
    • Bilingual capabilities (English/French) are an asset
    • Dedication to inclusive leadership
    • Understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystems
    • Opportunity to serve on various committees
    • Contribute to major organizational decisions
    • Seeking: Accountants, lawyers, fundraising professionals


    2. Committee Positions Available:

    Governance & Nominations Committee
    • Guide board recruitment and succession planning
    • Oversee CEO annual review

    Community Care Committee
    • Looking for 4-6 committee members
    • Focus on creating inclusive, safe spaces
    • Create & implement restorative justice approaches

    Fundraising Committee
    • Drive strategic fundraising initiatives
    • Support sustainable growth
    • Develop resource generation strategies

    Audit Committee
    • Oversee financial oversight
    • Ensure fiscal responsibility
    • Monitor organizational compliance

    Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF) is a national charity dedicated to supporting founders and innovators belonging to racialized and/or equity-deserving groups as they navigate the unfair barriers of institutional, structural, and interpersonal biases.

    Our mission at IEF is to support, educate, and celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship among business owners who belong to racialized and/or equity deserving communities across Canada.

    The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.

     

    Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
