    Phone reporting is only available between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.  Note, the province said the program applies to individuals, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations and municipalities that suffered property damage on Sept. 23 and Sept. 24.

    Les rapports téléphoniques ne sont disponibles qu'entre 8 h et 19 h 30 du lundi au vendredi et entre 9 h et 13 h le samedi. À noter que la province a déclaré que le programme s'applique aux particuliers, aux petites entreprises, aux organismes sans but lucratif et aux municipalités qui ont subi des dommages matériels les 23 et 24 septembre.

    A dedicated Fiona Response Coordinator has been established to assist people affected by Hurricane Fiona.

    Effective 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, September 27) anyone with inquiries related to Hurricane Fiona may contact Joanne Clarke at 709-695-9871 or email FionaResponse@gov.nl.ca for assistance. 

     

    Un coordinateur de l'intervention en cas d'ouragan Fiona a été mis en place pour aider les personnes touchées par l'ouragan Fiona.

    À partir de 8 h demain (mardi 27 septembre), toute personne ayant des questions concernant l'ouragan Fiona peut contacter Joanne Clarke au 709-695-9871 ou par courriel à FionaResponse@gov.nl.ca pour obtenir de l'aide.

This entails a commitment to meaningful consultation, fostering respectful relationships, and obtaining the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous peoples before embarking on economic projects. Moreover, the Chamber advocates for equitable access to employment, training, and educational opportunities for Indigenous communities, ensuring they reap sustainable benefits from economic development initiatives.

     

    Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
